Meet Savant

Savant Moore is a proud Army veteran, former Ranger, husband, father, entrepreneur, graduate of Howard University, minister, and current Houston ISD Trustee representing District 2. Born and raised in Northeast Houston, he is a product of public schools, a community servant molded by faith, and a financial reformer shaped by lived experience, not politics.

In 2026, Savant ran for Texas Comptroller and earned 392,043 votes from Texans who believed in his vision for financial accountability and government transparency. That campaign proved one thing beyond doubt: Texas Democrats are hungry for bold, principled leadership. Now Savant is bringing that same energy, that same commitment, and that same proven support directly into the Texas Democratic Party as a candidate for State Treasurer.

Savant knows what it is like to struggle with late fees, predatory billing systems, and government red tape. He has watched hardworking Texans lose thousands of dollars not because they refused to pay but because the process was designed to make them fail. As a small business owner he has stretched every dollar to meet payroll, buy equipment, and survive economic shifts. As a father he wants his children and all Texas children to inherit a state that rewards honesty, hard work, and responsibility.

As TDP State Treasurer, Savant will grow our sustaining membership by 10,000 members at just $15 a month, create joint events between the Texas Democratic Party and county parties statewide, and launch the TDP Honor Program to recognize the individuals, clubs, and organizations doing the extraordinary work of building our party every single day.

Long before he became a trustee he was a parent in the fight for better opportunities for students. Those efforts led to investments in new programs and support for historically neglected schools. That same fighting spirit now drives his mission to build a stronger, more united, and better funded Texas Democratic Party.

This is not about titles. It is about trust. It is about building the financial foundation that gives Texas Democrats the resources to win elections, serve communities, and deliver the change that everyday Texans deserve.

Priorities

  • As Treasurer I will deliver clear, detailed, and transparent financial reports at every SDEC meeting — giving our party leaders the data they need to make smart decisions about growing our sustaining membership to 10,000 members at $15 a month.

  • I will work alongside the State Chair to identify financial opportunities for joint events and resource sharing between the Texas Democratic Party and county parties statewide — stretching every dollar further and building the unity that wins elections.

  • I will advocate within my role for the creation of the TDP Honor Program — ensuring our financial investments reflect our deepest values by recognizing and celebrating the individuals, clubs, and organizations who build our party every single day.
